What is a RAL chart?

The RAL Color Chart is a numerical system that categorizes colors of coatings and paint to industry specifications. This color matching system is mainly used in Europe & Asia and was originating 1925 in Germany. The RAL Color Chart created a common color language that helped mitigate confusion and inconsistencies when matching or mixing colors.

What is the origins of RAL?

RAl is an acronym & it stands for stands “Reichsausschuss für Lieferbedingungen” and translates to Reichs-committee for delivery conditions which is essentially a quality assurance system.

Why do we use the RAL Chart?

The RAL Color Chart system has grown over the years and continues to serve as a good way to define colors used in architecture, manufacturing, construction, and within the military industry.
