Mobile Workshop
What are Mobile Workshop Containers used for?
Typically, our customer’s reach out for custom workshop containers when they need to bring the tools for the job, to the job. For example, if you are a mechanic in the Navy or the Coast Guard and you are part of a team that is over-hulling a vessel. You Need your tools and a place to work at the Shipyard. If you are in the Army, Air Force, or the Marines and need to perform preventative maintenance (PM) while deployed this will help support your mission.
Where value and quality blend
What makes our units right for you? We start the prosses with a new container. This allows our fabrication team the ability to work on the upgrades, not fixing a rusty dented used container. This results in less non value-added labor as well as a better final product to you. We frame the interior of the containers with capped, sealed and painted steel tubes. This ensures your container will stand up to the demanding elements you face.
Recessed utility connections
We know from experience; the power connections should be recessed for several reasons. With deliberate planning and a little extra work up front, your container retains its ability to be transported via commercial methods such as land, air, and sea.
Utilizing COTS items to achieve your custom needs
One important factor to consider when looking at your long-term needs is replacement parts and maintenance on your Mobile Connex tool shop. By utilizing commercial off the shelf (COTS), you have access to readily available replacement parts down the road.
Insolation for efficiency
Our Mobile Workshops come standard with insulation. Insulation is not only critical in maintaining the climate in your unit, it is also providing you with a vapor barrier. One way we like to explain this. Imagine an ice-cold soda can on a hot day. The outside of the can will sweat with condensation. Now think about an insulated Thermos, no condensation. Similar principles are happening with your container.
Quality; even if you can’t see it
Here at Vector, our experienced team understands the value in adding robust sub-componence. Each project comes standard with Medal clad Cable (MC) paired with anti-short bushings. This lends to a more dependable, and extends the life of the unit by providing extra protection to the wire.
Safety is Critical
Occupational safety is at the forefront when designing our mobile solutions. For example, we use a No Added Urea Formaldehyde (NAUF) plywood on the walls to ensure you are safe during your time in the Mobile Workshop. From an electrical perspective, each container comes with an exterior grounding lug to ensure the steel container will not become electrically energized.
Climate controlled space to work
Sometimes being comfortable is the difference between a quick fix and a lasting repair. If you have a clean, safe, well lit, and climate-controlled space to conduct your bench repairs or maintenance, the quality of your work will likely improve. Having a designated place for your tools will ultimately contribute to the overall success of the mission.
